Otago Access Radio (OAR FM) is an award-winning station, hosting programmes by, for and about our local communities. We broadcast from Dunedin on 105.4FM and 1575AM, and to a quickly growing online audience via streaming and podcasts from our website.
We provide the people of our diverse Dunedin community with a voice – encouraging participation, information sharing and involvement in community life. This guarantees our listeners a fascinating blend of information, opinion and debate, along with an entertaining mix of jazz, soul, blues, reggae and world music that includes the work of many talented New Zealand artists.
OAR FM is growing, with more than 80 locally-based groups and individuals making regular programmes with the station, attracting a hugely diverse audience that values community-minded programming across multiple platforms.
Two recent access initiatives have seen OAR FM further broaden its volunteer broadcaster base, and its listenership:

• Youth Zone weekday after-school programming provides free training and airtime for young locals, who create their own radio shows for the under-22s
• Connecting Cultures provides a unique opportunity for Dunedin-based ethnic groups and individuals to share their language, music and culture.
