We are...
We have a staff of two in a non-hierarchical management structure, that allows us to handle each others’ jobs when one of us is away. We provide access to over 40 different community organisations and individuals, representing the long, thin region that is the Wairarapa. Ours was the second Access station to be established in Aotearoa (after Wellington) although we have operated 24/7 only since November 2000. We have high public visibility, thanks to our main street location and a great relationship with the local newspapers. Programmes cover disability issues and lifestyles, a range of ethnic and indigenous cultures, different ideologies and religious beliefs… the usual Access priorities. Our programme-makers manage all aspects of their shows, from content and style to the technical requirements of running live-to-air radio. |
